In medical terms Itchy skin is known as pruritus and normally which is caused by stimuli bugging your skin. When something going wrong in your skin, then it started itching and for getting relief, you scratch over it. There are number of causes of itchy skin such as allergic reactions, sunburns, medicine, insect bites, chemical reaction, soaps and detergents, dry climate, and aging.

Home Remedies for Itchy Skin: Baking Soda

Baking soda is one of natural curative products for itchy skin. You can use baking soda at the time of bath. You just mix a cup of baking soda to a bath tub with warm water and bathe for an hour that will help you reduce your itchy skin. Also you can apply a paste of baking soda on your itchy skin for healing pain. Mix three parts of baking soda and one part water and apply it over the affected area as a paste. Never apply baking soda paste if your skin is wrecked.

Home Remedies for Itchy Skin: Oatmeal

Mix one or two cups of finely ground oatmeal with a warm bath that will help to relieve your itchy skin and pain. Never use hot water for the oatmeal because it will be similar to having breakfast in a bath tub.

Squeeze some pure lemon juice over the affected area and let it be dry for sometime. Lemon contains anti- treasonable and painkiller properties that will help to reduce itchy skin.

Holy Basil contains high amounts of eugenol, like cloves. Prepare a tea with basil and spray your skin with it to help lighten the itchy skin. Take a few dried basil leaves and put in a jar of hot water. Leave it somtime for cooling and then apply it to the affected area. Use of mint and thyme are also the best way to relieve your itchy skin.
